This week we completed the season 15 – 1. Bummer we lost that game to Westview, but they ended up being the 2nd best team in the state at 13 – 2 – 1. This final game against Tigard was at home and with a lot of fans in the stands. Varsity won 17 – 0 and JV won 14 – 5. Off to the playoffs next week. Good Luck Jesuit. I have a couple of LAX summer camps this summer, Jesuit camp and the University of Oregon camp.

A very close call for us Jesuit girls. We led most of the game with about 6 minutes to play we led 10 -6. With 2 minutes to play it was 10 -8. In the final minute Sherwood scored again and cut the lead to 10 – 9. We won the draw and play keep a way until the final 10 seconds and by that time Sherwood couldn’t advance the ball to try and tie the score. I had what one of the parents called “the goal of the year”. It was really a sweeping “scoop” shot off the carpet and into the upper corner of the goal. At least if felt good and was the 10th goal of the game.

Friday evening home game. It was very mild, around 55 degrees. We had a nice cheering section besides the parents. Af few weeks ago we shut out Beaverton 11 – 0. This Friday night we did it again, 12 – 0. I am usually the 3rd cutter when we set up and today, the first or second cutters we wide open and they got the goals. In the second half, we didn’t get many shots because we didn’t want to run up the score. Now we are 11 – 1.

A cold and rainly evening and we were playing at Westview. We beat them earlier this year 7 – 3 at home. This game we got behind early and could never catch up. Our first loss of the season was 12 – 8. I played the whole first half and most of the second half. We just couldn’t catch and shoot. There were multiple times when we had cutters open and they just could catch the ball and fire a shot.
This is late practice week so by Friday night we will be ready to take out our frustrations on Beaverton.

The third game this week. Luckily it was nice and sunny (60 degrees). We played at Tigard and are now 10 – 0. It took us over 9 minutes to get our first goal and for the next 16 minutes of the first half we scored 9 goals. I had the 2nd goal and the 4th goal of the game and in the second half we play keep away. We ended up winning 12 – 1. I was real active in the first half and the coaches let some of the other girls play most of the second half. I did play about 14 minutes of the 2nd half and set a great pick for Amy to take advantage of and scored our last goal. I think my 6 years of basketball experience help in setting the picks.

My dad almost made me go to St. Mary’s (all girls). At the time they were the two-time defending girls lacrosse state champions. Our game was at Portland State University in a light rain. St. May’s is undefeated and we are too. St. Mary’s scored first, then we scored 3 in a row. At half we led 4-3. I played the whole first half in several positions.
St. Mary’s is by far the best team we have played. They were very sharp on defense and were aggressive in “checking”. We pulled away in the second half and led 9-4 before we gave up a couple of late goals and won 10 - 7. Here we are 9 -0.

This is the beginning of a busy week of lacrosse. We have three games. Monday we played Sherwood and they were by far the best team we have played. Their checking and defense was very tight. This was one of my best games of the season. I assisted on our second goal and scored our 4th goal. We lead 7 – 3 at half and quickly gave up 2 goals at the beginning of the 2nd half. We then led only 7 – 5. I scored another goal with a sweet shot in the upper left corner to make the score 9 – 6. The image to the left is right after the goal (You can see the ball in the bottom right). We eventually won the game 11 – 8. We are now 8 – 0 and play St. Mary’s Academy on Tuesday.

A great day for lacrosse. No homework and the sun is shining. We traveled to Sunset to play. That is the school I would attend if I went to public school. We are now 7 -0 after a nice 11 – 2 win. It was another game of 2nd half keep-a-way. We led 8-0 at the half and were told to not take shots. It was a good thing since we practiced our cutting and passing and had a ton of easy shot that we didn’t take. I played pretty aggressive today, especially around ground balls. My only goal came a follow-up from a saved shot. I scooped up the save and circled around the back of the goal and found the inside corner for a goal. That was the last goal of the half.
